Helicopter 2025 - Full Kit Makes two helicopters

Designed to meet specifications for both Division B and C competitions. The dimensions are maximized but allow fitting into a regulation sized box (not included). This is an entirely new design that utilizes 4 blades on the upper rotor for extra stability and 2 blades on the lower and is designed to weigh very near the minimum weight of 4g

Carbon Fiber rods are utilized for leading and trailing edges. The lower rotor is designed to flare to increase flight times. Balsa parts are laser cut from specially selected light wood. Ultra-light Mylar is provided to cover rotor blades. Fixtures are provided to facilitate the building process and enhance accuracy. The motor stick can be left unbraced or utilize a Kevlar truss design to help minimize bowing under the high loads of a fully wound motor (included). A ceiling bumper is incorporated that has a rotating balsa disk to help stay planted on the ceiling for more dependable flights.

Extensive instructions cover step by step building, flying, theory and strategy. It includes two bags of FAI Super Sport rubber and eighteen O-rings for lots of experimenting and flying time. It also contains instructions and hardware to make a winder holder/stooge though you provide the 18” long board and C-Clamp.

This helicopter will require a winder (not in kit) to fly long duration flights (available on the TOOLS page - 10:1 ratio recommended).

Note to FLIGHT competitors

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOUR BOX DOES NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE DIMENSIONS, however it must be very close to the maximum size for this helicopter to fit into it. It is your responsibility to either buy, find, or construct a box, verifying that no dimension exceeds the maximum and that your assembled helicopter fits inside of it. Many will use a 10 ream (5000 sheets) letter sized copy paper shipping box.

Helicopter Holder

This holder will support the rather fragile motor stick of your rubber powered helicopter when loading a fully wound motor. It reduces the possibilities of breakage as it will take most of the stresses applied when hooking the ends of the fully wound motor to the helicopter shafts. It also can allow one person to operate their helicopter.

This PARTIAL KIT contains all the materials to build 2 more helicopters. It includes the laser cut balsa parts, carbon fiber rods, Mylar, thread reinforced trusses, extra shaft wire and hardware bag.

This PARTIAL KIT does NOT contain any instructions, drawings, rubber, building fixtures or covering frame. Do not order this unless you already have all these items from a FULL KIT.

TSA – Flight Endurance

This kit is specifically made for high school 2025 TSA Flight Endurance Competition. It has key components made from Carbon Fiber to reduce warpage issues, increase aerodynamic efficiency, increase strength but still allow building to minimum weight of 8 grams. The ribs are laser-cut to build completed wings that are 40 cm with an 9 cm chord. Landing gear is included for ROG takeoffs. There are numerous adjustable components allowing for the ultimate in learning, experimentation, and flying success!

This kit will build two complete airplanes. It contains two Ikara 24 cm propellers that will need to be trimmed down to the 17 cm maximum allowable diameter and has all hardware to build top-notch competition planes. It includes a large instruction package and full-sized drawing to provide even novice builders with the step by step construction process and a full aerodynamics lesson for insights on how to fly and achieve maximum results. All materials are carefully selected to yield enough strength and durability yet be built close to the minimum weight requirements. It is packaged with ultra-light Mylar covering and includes material for a covering frame. Custom cut rubber in 3 different widths (17g each) is also included.
